Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure, and BMI: Oh MY!

UW-EC Nurses speak with N Street women who participated in a blood pressure clinic. Not only was blood pressure measured, also height and weight.
For some, it is rather surprising that overweight and obesity can be an issue for homeless persons. However, given the cost of fresh fruit and vegetables, and the easy access to fast food, perhaps it isn't too surprising.

Among African American women, breast cancer, heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes are major illnesses that claim their lives.

Our UW-EC nursing professionals were poised for health teaching, and warmly welcomed the women to their blood pressure clinic.
